The UCLA Dental Anesthesia Service provides anxiety and pain control services at the UCLA School of Dentistry and in the surrounding community. Typical patients who may benefit from these services include children who are too young to cooperate with the dentist, patients who are highly anxious and/or are undergoing stressful dental procedures, patients with gagging or local anesthesia problems, and patients with physical and/or mental disabilities.

Representative Services and Fees
Anesthesia Services (including general anesthesia, deep sedation, conscious sedation, and advanced local anesthetic techniques) Fees: $440 for the first hour, $70 every 15 minutes thereafter.

What to Expect
Patients are generally contacted by the dentist anesthesiologist the day before the scheduled anesthesia/sedation. All procedures are described, so that the patient will have a clear understanding of all anesthesia-related procedures to be performed the next day.

Billing Questions
For billing questions, the patient should contact his/her treating dentist anesthesiologist.

Request Dental Records
The patient may request a copy of the anesthesia record, history, and consent forms from the treating dentist anesthesiologist.
