The Postdoctoral Endodontic Clinic is located on the third floor of the UCLA School of Dentistry, its windows facing east, and overlooking the beautiful and lush Botanical Gardens. The postgraduate endodontic clinic was renovated in 1997, and it houses six endodontic residents in the 2-year postgraduate residency program. Operatories are equipped with operating microscopes, X-ray heads, and comfortable patient chairs. The clinic is equipped with the latest endodontic technology, and the residents deliver all aspects of routine endodontic treatment, endodontic retreatmment, and endodontic surgery under the supervision of the attending faculty.
Endodontics is the dental specialty concerned with the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases and injuries of the pulp and associated periradicular tissues, i.e. toothache and root canal treatment. The UCLA Postgraduate Endodontic Clinic has the resources, the expertise and professional responsibility to assist the dental profession and the public by providing services that relate to root canal treatment. An endodontic resident is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to care for School of Dentistry patients and patients admitted to the Medical Center emergency room as well as the in-patient population of the hospital.
