The UCLA School of Dentistry has a world-renown reputation for its high quality faculty members and clinical programs which attract the best students from across the country. The School of Dentistry General Clinic is conveniently located in the Center for Health Sciences on the UCLA campus. This General Clinic offers comprehensive state-of-the-art dental care for adults.
When you become a patient, you will be assigned to a team of student dentists known as a vertical tier, comprised of a fourth year, third year and second year student. The students work together, each performing procedures for which they have been trained, thus providing continuity of care. All student procedures are closely supervised by faculty mentors at every stage of treatment.
In addition to your assigned student dentists, you will be assigned by a Group Practice Director who is a licensed dentist who will serve as a liaison between you, your student dentist and the faculty, should you require any assistance. In addition, the quality of care is periodically reviewed as care progresses and upon completion your treatment.

How to Make Appointments
To make your first appointment with the General Clinic, please call New Patient Services at
(310)206-3904. If you are in pain, and need emergency care, we will make every effort to see you promptly. Please understand that our urgent dental care services are provided only as time and space permits.
For continuing patients, you will be contacted by a student dentist to make subsequent appointments.

What to Expect
During your first visit, a faculty dentist in New Patient Services (310-206-3904) will screen you to determine if the treatment you require will provide a good training experience for one of our student dentists. Some prospective patients have dental conditions that are too complex for our students, or they may not meet student needs for clinical training. If this is the case, we will recommend that you receive care from a resident provider, faculty provider, one of our other sites, or that you obtain treatment elsewhere.
If you are accepted for treatment, X-rays will be taken, and your medical and dental history will be reviewed. Your head, neck, teeth and the soft tissues in your mouth will be examined as well. The fees for the examination and X-rays must be paid before the X-rays are taken. A student dentist will contact you shortly to complete your examination and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
Please remember that each clinic visit takes approximately three hours because our students work carefully under the close supervision of our faculty. In consideration that you have agreed to participate in the educational process, our fees are up to one-half lower than those offered by dentists in the private sector.
