The UCLA Graduate Orofacial Pain (OFP) Clinic has been at the forefront of the expansion and extension of the treatment of chronic pain by dentists. Many of the program directors in dental schools around the world have received training here. In 1990, UCLA officially expanded its renowned TMJ Disorders training program to include all aspects of orofacial pain, making it the first university-based program to provide total hands-on experience for residents and graduate students in diagnosing and medically managing headache and neuropathic pain, as well as the traditional TMJ disorders.
The UCLA Graduate OFP clinic provides state-of-the art diagnosis and treatment for chronic orofacial pain conditions, based on current information and knowledge that is supported by appropriate research and studies. All examination and treatment is provided under the direction of the Attending Faculty who are Board Certified and Diplomates of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain.
